At the grand finale of Fashion Week, part of the 2024 China International Consumer Products Expo, ‘Rendezvous with Changjiang’ enthralled the audience with a captivating fashion showcase that celebrated the beauty of Changjiang and Hainan.
The runway was transformed into a vibrant tapestry of Changjiang’s unique natural and cultural heritage, adorned with bamboo rafts, Li pottery, wooden looms, and flowing Li brocade curtains. Fashion designers ingeniously intertwined Changjiang’s cultural elements into their creations, harmoniously blending traditional aesthetics with contemporary design art to present a stunning display of national specialty garments.
As the region’s premier consumer products exhibition, the Expo welcomed over 4,000 brands from 71 countries and regions. This year’s event deepened economic, trade, and cultural exchanges and collaborations. Changjiang’s dedication to sharing its cultural treasures with the world was evident in its three-year partnership with Fashion Week.
In another significant cultural exchange, Changjiang’s provincial-level intangible cultural heritage, the ‘cowhide stool,’ took center stage at the ‘Bonjour Chine’ International Image Exhibition and Hainan Tourism and Cultural Promotion Event held in France. This unique artifact captured the attention of French audiences and international media, further highlighting Changjiang’s rich cultural heritage on a global scale.
