Channel 4 has reportedly made the decision to discontinue ‘Scared of The Dark’ after only one season on air. The show, which debuted in April 2022, garnered a viewership of over one million and featured eight celebrities embarking on a journey into complete darkness for several days. However, despite its initial success, Deadline has reported that the show will not be renewed for a second season.
In contrast, another Channel 4 reality show, ‘Tempting Fortune,’ hosted by Paddy McGuinness, is slated to return for a second installment. ‘Tempting Fortune’ follows a group of 12 individuals as they traverse South Africa in pursuit of a £300,000 jackpot. The upcoming season of ‘Tempting Fortune’ is expected to expand to eight episodes and will feature a new cast of contestants venturing into a tropical setting.
Paddy McGuinness has expressed his excitement for the renewal of ‘Tempting Fortune,’ especially after the hiatus of the popular BBC series ‘Top Gear,’ where he served as a co-host. Production on ‘Top Gear’ has been suspended since last year due to a serious incident involving fellow co-host Freddie Flintoff, who left the show after a car accident during filming. McGuinness has shared that communication with Flintoff has diminished, but he remains supportive during this challenging time.
