This version offers a feature called Rooms, enabling you to create an environment where characters can chat autonomously. To start a room, select the ‘Rooms’ tab on the left-hand side. From the drop-down menu, select ‘Create Room’. This will open the settings for creating a group chat. Input a room name, and add characters from the drop-down menu or by searching. You need at least one character to create a room, but at least two to initiate communication between them. You can also add an optional room topic to further train the algorithm. Finally, select the ‘Create’ button in the bottom-right corner, and your group chat will be generated. Your characters will then interact with each other automatically.
How to Create Character.AI Group Chats with Premium Service
The latest version of Character.AI on the web does not support the Rooms feature. Instead, the service has introduced a new group chat feature as a perk of the paid C.ai+ subscription, available through the Character.AI mobile app for iOS and Android since October 2023. The C.ai+ subscription costs $10 per month. Character.AI plans to introduce group chat support on the web in the future, with a long-term goal of making it accessible to all users.
Group chats in Character.AI seem to be an updated concept of Rooms, allowing for a blend of AI and human communication. You can witness AI versions of notable figures like Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Nikola Tesla, and Stephen Hawking engaging in conversations. Creating Group Chats in the Character.AI Mobile App

Some characters will be listed in your recents, or you can use the search tab. After adding your AI characters, click ‘Create’ again. You will see a pop-up asking if you want to invite friends or human participants. You can close this tab to proceed directly with your newly created group chat.
