Charges Filed in Suicide Abetment and Porsche Crash Cases in Pune

Authorities in Pune have filed charges against the father and grandfather of a juvenile involved in a fatal Porsche car crash and three others in a separate case related to the abetment of suicide of a businessman’s son.

In the suicide abetment case, D.S. Kature, a construction business owner in Pune’s Vadgaon Sheri vicinity, filed a complaint against Vinay Kale, from whom his son, Shashikant Kature, had borrowed money for construction.

According to authorities, after Shashikant Kature was unable to repay the loan on time, Kale allegedly began adding compounding interest and harassing him. Fed up with the constant harassment, Shashikant Kature committed suicide in January this year.

A case was registered against Kale under IPC sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 506 (criminal intimidation) at the Chandannagar police station in Pune.

During the investigation, the role of the juvenile’s father (a builder), grandfather, and three others emerged in the suicide case. Sections 420 (cheating) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC have now been added to the case.

The 17-year-old minor’s grandfather is currently detained by the judiciary for suspected involvement in the abduction and unlawful detention of their family chauffeur. The chauffeur was allegedly coerced into falsely confessing to the police that he was driving during the fatal accident.

The juvenile’s father, Vishal Agarwal, a real estate developer, along with his mother, are currently held by the police in connection with a case concerning the swapping of the juvenile’s blood samples.

The incident took place in Kalyani Nagar, resulting in the deaths of two IT professionals after the Porsche car, allegedly driven by the minor, collided with their two-wheeler.

Meanwhile, the teen’s grandfather has approached the Bombay High Court with a writ petition, stating that he was wrongfully detained and falsely implicated in the case related to kidnapping and wrongful confinement of their family driver.

The petition argues that the investigating authorities initiated the case without adhering to the prescribed procedure against the 77-year-old senior citizen.

The plea states that the petitioner assured the safety and protection of the driver and his family and calls the complaint by the driver as ‘concocted and bogus’.

The plea prays the HC to direct the police to release the petitioner immediately and also sought strict action against the cops.
