Charging AirPods: How to Charge AirPods with Wire or Wireless

How to Charge AirPods:

AirPods come with a charging case designed to store and charge the earbuds. To charge AirPods, simply place them back in the case, ensuring they are properly aligned. For AirPods Max, skip this step and locate the charging connection directly on the headphones.

Charging AirPods with a Wired Power Connection:

For AirPods models without a wireless charging case or if you’re not utilizing wireless charging, use a cable connection. Connect the Lightning or USB-C end of the cable to the charging case and plug the other end into a compatible adapter or USB port.

Charging AirPods Wirelessly:

AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro come with wireless charging cases. For earlier models, you can purchase a separate wireless charging case. To charge wirelessly, place the AirPods case on a Qi-standard wireless charging pad with the front/indicator light facing outward.

Checking Charging Status:

Every AirPods case has an indicator light that indicates charging status. For the original non-wireless charging case, the light is inside. For all other cases, the light is on the outside. Amber light indicates low battery, and green light indicates a fully charged case.

Troubleshooting:

If your AirPods are not charging properly, ensure the charging case is plugged in or placed correctly on the wireless charging pad. Clean the charging contacts on the AirPods and case, and try again. If the issue persists, contact Apple support for assistance.
