Chelsea Manager Remains Focused Amid Ownership Power Struggle Ahead of Bournemouth Clash

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is determined to keep his focus on the field, despite reports of a power struggle among the Premier League club’s owners. Maresca addressed the ongoing situation on Friday, confirming that he’s been in communication with both Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali since the start of the season. This comes amid rumors of disagreements between ownership factions, with some seeking to buy out others.

“I am speaking with both. There is not any problem at all, and as I said my focus is about the pitch because it’s the only thing I can control,” Maresca stated ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Bournemouth.

The past two years have been a whirlwind at Stamford Bridge since a consortium led by Boehly and Clearlake Capital acquired the club from Roman Abramovich for $3.2 billion. The American owners, reportedly at odds over the direction of the club, have invested heavily, spending approximately $1.3 billion on more than three dozen players across five transfer windows. However, the results haven’t matched the spending, with Chelsea’s recent performance raising concerns.

Adding to the roster, Chelsea secured the services of winger Jadon Sancho from Manchester United on a one-year loan with an obligation to buy next year, adding another name to the long list of recent acquisitions.

The Bournemouth vs Chelsea Premier League match is scheduled to kick off at 12:30 AM IST on September 15th, Sunday, at the Vitality Stadium. Fans can watch the live telecast on the Star Sports network or stream the match via the Disney+Hotstar app and website. The Blues will be hoping to secure a positive result despite the off-field drama surrounding the club.
