Chelsea Offers New Contract to Midfielder Conor Gallagher Amidst Interest from Top European Clubs

Chelsea has presented midfielder Conor Gallagher with a new contract offer, as his current deal is set to expire next year. This was announced by manager Enzo Maresca ahead of their pre-season friendly against Manchester City in Ohio. The 24-year-old, however, has not yet agreed to the terms of the offer. Maresca did not disclose specifics regarding the offer, but British media has reported that several top European clubs are actively vying for his signature.

Maresca told reporters late on Friday: “I can confirm that Conor is in discussions with the club to reach a solution, and the club has formally offered him a new contract. That is the information I have received.”

Gallagher is currently enjoying his holiday following his participation in the European Championship and was not part of Chelsea’s tour of the United States. Maresca further added: “The primary focus or target at the moment, for myself, Connor, and the club, is to find a solution that brings satisfaction to all involved.”

Chelsea is scheduled to host City in their opening Premier League match on August 18th.
