Chelsea’s Awkward Omission: Arsenal Fans Mock Blues for Ignoring Kai Havertz’s Goals

Arsenal fans have mercilessly mocked Chelsea’s social media account for its embarrassing omission of Kai Havertz from its list of goalscorers during Tuesday night’s humiliating 5-0 defeat at the Emirates. The Gunners extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a dominant performance, in which Havertz, sold by the Blues in the summer, made his mark with two goals within eight second-half minutes. However, Chelsea’s updates on their Twitter account inexplicably failed to name Havertz as a scorer, despite acknowledging Leandro Trossard and Ben White. The glaring oversight did not escape the notice of eagle-eyed Arsenal fans, who seized the opportunity to poke fun at their London rivals.

One fan sarcastically remarked, “Couldn’t even name the goalscorer,” while another quipped, “Bet you wish you had Havertz now.” A third fan took a more subtle approach, asking, “I wonder who scored, admin?” Havertz’s struggles at Chelsea were well-documented, with the German failing to live up to expectations following his big-money move from Bayer Leverkusen. Despite scoring the winning goal in the club’s Champions League triumph during his debut season, Havertz’s overall performances were underwhelming, leading to his eventual departure.

However, since joining Arsenal, Havertz has rediscovered his best form, excelling in a false nine role and becoming a key contributor to the Gunners’ title challenge. His impressive display against his former club was further evidence of his resurgence, and his team-mates were quick to heap praise on his performance. Defender Ben White said, “Amazing. He deserves it. He’s been outstanding since he’s come in. You don’t realize how good he is until you play with him. Amazing performances from all of us. It’s important to keep going and play our best.”

Chelsea’s omission of Havertz’s goals has added insult to injury for the Blues, who were thoroughly outplayed by Arsenal. The three points earned by the Gunners have increased the pressure on Manchester City, who face Tottenham on Thursday, and Liverpool, who play Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday. While Arsenal still need the champions to slip up in order to claim the league title, manager Mikel Arteta was delighted with his team’s performance. “Very happy with the win, with the amount of chances and goals we scored,” he said. “And with the clean sheet as well it shows the consistency. We weren’t disciplined enough with some stuff we did in the first half and we needed to be more disciplined and we did that in the second half.
