Chelsea’s Social Media Team Caught in Petty Revenge Against Former Star

Chelsea FC’s social media team has come under fire for their petty refusal to acknowledge former player Kai Havertz after he scored against them in a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Arsenal FC.

Havertz, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea last summer, haunted his former club with a brace that contributed to Arsenal’s dominant performance. However, Chelsea’s social media team, in an act of apparent pettiness, chose not to name Havertz in their goal updates.

Instead, the official Chelsea Twitter account simply stated ‘Goal to the Gunners’ when Havertz scored his first goal, and ‘Goal to Arsenal’ for his second. This omission was met with amusement and criticism from fans, who accused Chelsea of being ‘sore losers’ and ‘ashamed’ to acknowledge Havertz’s contribution.

Chelsea’s unwillingness to recognize Havertz’s goals stood in stark contrast to their acknowledgment of goals scored by Arsenal’s other players, Ben White and Leandro Trossard. Fans expressed their disapproval, with one commenting ‘They’re ashamed to say his name,’ and another adding ‘Harvertz cooking them is the best thing that could happen 😂’.

The incident highlights the pettiness that can sometimes exist in football and the unwillingness of some teams to give credit where it is due, even to former players who have moved on to other clubs.
