The Chicago Police Department (CPD) has issued a warning after a string of trash fires in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. The incidents, which occurred on Sunday, are believed to be connected to two other fires that happened last month.
The most recent fires started around 9:15 p.m. on East 70th Street. Another fire was reported about 30 minutes later on South Prairie Street. A short time later, a third fire was set on East 70th Street.
According to police, the fires are believed to be connected to two others that occurred on South Indiana Avenue and South Michigan Avenue in December. The CPD has not released any suspect information.
