Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy Indulges in Friendly Football Match with Students and Congress Party Workers

Following a strenuous election campaign that spanned the entire state, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy sought a reprieve in his favorite pastime: football. On May 12th, at the Central University in Gachibowli, he joined students in a spirited game. Later, he was joined by a team led by Telangana MLC and NSUI state president Venkat Balmoori, who faced off against Mr. Reddy’s team. Sporting an ‘INDIA’ jersey emblazoned with his name, Mr. Reddy enthusiastically engaged with the students and Congress party workers for over an hour. Subsequently, he interacted with the students, engaging in non-political discussions to gain insights into their views on India. Mr. Revanth Reddy’s passion for football is well-known, having played the game in his youth for enjoyment rather than professionally. His admiration for the legendary Argentinian player Diego Maradona is also evident. This is not the first time the Chief Minister has been spotted playing football. He has always been open about his love for the sport, frequently expressing his enthusiasm to journalists during his time in opposition. Congress MLC Venkat Balmoor, who captained the team that played against the Chief Minister, remarked that the game provided a welcome respite for Mr. Reddy and served as a means of relaxation ahead of the upcoming high-stakes election on Monday. The participants concluded the event by posing for photographs with the students of the Central University of Hyderabad.
