A 10-year-old self-proclaimed ‘Bal Sant’ and Krishna devotee, Abhinav Arora, has stirred up a social media storm after responding to a public reprimand by his guru, Swami Rambhadracharya. The controversy erupted following a viral video where the revered guru could be seen scolding Arora at a religious event, calling him a ‘foolish boy’ for claiming that Lord Krishna studies with him.
Rambhadracharya, in a press conference, expressed his disapproval of Arora’s claims, stating, “He is a foolish boy. He claims that Lord Krishna studies with him… Will God study with him? I had scolded him in Vrindavan too.” The guru’s words, captured on video, sparked a wave of reactions online.
However, Arora, in a video response, has dismissed the incident as insignificant, stating that such small events should not be given undue attention. He claims that the video dates back to 2023 and was from a Brindavan event. “The whole nation has been talking about how Swami Rambhadracharya reprimanded me, but not how the guru had later called me to his room to bless me,” he said.
Addressing the criticism he has faced for being present at a religious event instead of being in school, Arora maintains that he does attend school. He says, “However, it has reached such a stage today, I have been trolled so much, that I have not been able to go to school. My sister has also not been able to go to school because of me.”
Arora further questions the public outrage, asking his viewers, “Have you never been scolded by your parents? Have you never been scolded by your guru? Even if such a big guru like Swami Rambhadracharya scolded me, why is it being made the nation’s biggest news story?” He highlights a positive interaction with another religious leader, Jagadguru Ramanandacharya, saying, “In fact, no one has mentioned how Jagadguru Ramanandacharya also called me to his room afterwards and blessed me.”
This incident has sparked a debate on the appropriate reaction to public figures, highlighting the power of social media in shaping public opinion. It also raises questions about the balance between religious devotion and the importance of education for young individuals.
