Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) expressed satisfaction on Friday, August 30, following China’s decision to reinstate tourism between China and the Kinmen Islands. This positive development came after a significant meeting held on August 22, which involved officials from both sides.
During the meeting, Chen, alongside tourism officials and business representatives from Kinmen, met with Song Tao, the Director of China’s Taiwan Affairs Office. Song Tao committed to ensuring that the talks would lead to fruitful outcomes, particularly in restoring travel links between the two regions. Chen later confirmed that the promises made during the discussions were set to materialize.
