Effective immediately, foreign tourist groups of at least two individuals organized or received by Chinese travel agencies can now enter China visa-free through any of the 13 designated cruise ship ports located along the country’s extensive coastline. This move is expected to provide a major boost to the cruise tourism sector, connecting these vibrant coastal hubs.
To be eligible for this visa-free entry, tourist groups must adhere to certain requirements. They must arrive and depart China together on the same cruise ship, remaining with their respective groups throughout their journey. Additionally, they must continue their voyage from one port to another within China, staying aboard the vessel until their departure from Chinese territory.
The duration of stay for these visa-free tourists is capped at 15 days. During this period, they are granted the opportunity to explore not only the coastal provinces and municipalities but also to venture into autonomous regions and the capital city, Beijing. This arrangement opens up a diverse range of cultural and scenic experiences to cruise passengers, making China an increasingly attractive destination for international cruise tourism.
