Chirag Paswan, the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, has been re-elected as the president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) for a five-year term. The decision was made unanimously at the party’s national executive meeting held in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, on Sunday.
Paswan himself confirmed the re-election, stating, “The national executive, in its meeting here, has re-elected me for the next five years.” The Lok Janshakti Party’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) also announced the news, highlighting Paswan’s re-election as party chief for the next five years.
During the meeting, discussions also centered around the upcoming assembly elections in Haryana, Jammu Kashmir, and Jharkhand. Regarding the Jharkhand elections, Paswan revealed that the party may contest either with their national alliance partner, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), or independently.
This re-election reaffirms Paswan’s leadership within the Lok Janshakti Party and signals the party’s focus on upcoming electoral battles in various Indian states.
