Choice Hotels International’s renowned rewards program, Choice Privileges, has announced a new partnership with IAG Loyalty, the company behind the global loyalty currency Avios. This collaboration expands the redemption options for over 65 million Choice Privileges members, providing them with greater flexibility for their travel rewards.
Through this partnership, Choice Privileges members can now convert their points into Avios, which can be redeemed for reward flights and upgrades with IAG airlines such as British Airways, Iberia, Vueling, and Aer Lingus. The conversion rate is set at 5,000 Choice Privileges points for 1,000 Avios.
Avios is a versatile loyalty currency that can be redeemed for various travel-related benefits, including hotel stays, experiences, car rentals, and charitable donations. Members can also utilize Avios for purchases at the British Airways Highlife Shop and The Wine Flyer, as well as for British Airways Holidays through the BA Executive Club.
Nick Bosworth, Director of Marketing, Brand and Loyalty at Choice Hotels EMEA, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “It is fantastic to be further expanding the rewards and opportunities available to the 65 million Choice Privileges members for their travels with this new agreement. We are focused on continuing to add redemption benefits that provide further value for our members so they can redeem the points they’ve earned by staying at nearly 7,500 Choice Hotels around the world on the experiences that matter to them.”
David Black, Head of Retail, Travel & Leisure at IAG Loyalty, echoed this sentiment, stating, “With over 40 million members globally, Avios is one of the most in-demand travel loyalty currencies that adds real value to those members who are collecting and redeeming on a daily basis. We’re thrilled to collaborate with Choice Hotels to ensure Choice Privileges members can enjoy Avios’ wide-range of redemption options, including reward flights and upgrades.”
