The North Olmsted Board of Education has unanimously approved the appointment of Chris Caleris as the district’s next superintendent. Caleris, who currently serves as assistant superintendent of pupil services, has been an employee of the North Olmsted City Schools for 23 years.
Caleris began his career with the district as a fifth-grade teacher at North Olmsted Intermediate School. He later served as principal of both North Olmsted Middle School and North Olmsted High School before being named assistant superintendent of pupil services in 2018.
Caleris holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Baldwin Wallace University, a master’s degree in educational administration from Cleveland State University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Akron.
Caleris will officially take over as superintendent on August 1, 2023. He will replace David J. Brand, who is leaving the district to become superintendent of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools.
“I am honored to be selected as the next superintendent of the North Olmsted City Schools,” Caleris said. “I am committed to working with the Board of Education, staff, and community to provide our students with the best possible education.”
