Christina Applegate, beloved for her portrayal of Amy on Friends, has faced a health setback attributed to a contaminated salad. The incident left her severely ill, resulting in incontinence and the unfortunate necessity of wearing diapers. Applegate, who won an Emmy for her guest appearance on Friends, has been battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in recent years.
Explaining her ordeal on the MeSsy podcast, Applegate vividly described the events. She believes she contracted Sapovirus, a virus spread through fecal contamination, likely from a salad she had eaten at a restaurant she had frequented for 15 years. The infection caused intense vomiting, diarrhea, and other severe symptoms.
The situation worsened when Applegate woke up in a ‘pool of s**t’ at 3 AM, prompting her to wear diapers due to the unpredictable nature of her condition. Applegate and her co-host, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, also battling MS, lamented the lack of accessible and stylish adult diapers for women.
Applegate has remained transparent about her MS journey, sharing her experiences and supporting others with the condition. In March, she revealed the presence of approximately 30 lesions on her brain. Earlier this month, she disclosed her inability to shower for several weeks due to a ‘pretty bad’ health relapse.
