Christy Turlington on Cyberbullying, Regret, and Her Children’s Modeling Careers

Christy Turlington, the legendary supermodel, recently disclosed to Harper’s Bazaar that she experienced a challenging incident when a nude photo from one of her old shoots was circulated among her son Finn’s high school basketball opponents. While referring to the incident as a ‘heckling tactic,’ Turlington expressed her surprise that it hadn’t occurred sooner. Despite acknowledging the ‘rude’ behavior of the teenagers, she emphasized that she has no regrets and is not ashamed of her past. Turlington noted that the school intervened in the situation.

In the same interview, the 55-year-old model revealed that she is an introverted person who prefers to observe others. She also discussed her strategy for avoiding online bullying, which includes disabling comments on her Instagram posts as recommended by her eldest child. Turlington believes that ignoring negative comments allows her to maintain her well-being.

While still modeling occasionally, Turlington acknowledges that her stamina has diminished, making it challenging to endure multiple days of shooting consecutively. Recently, she made a notable appearance at London Fashion Week in 2023 alongside fellow supermodels Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Cindy Crawford. The trio also starred in Apple+’s documentary series ‘The Super Models.’

Turlington’s daughter, Grace, is following in her mother’s footsteps, making her catwalk debut at the British Vogue x LuisaViaRoma show in 2023 and participating in Milan Fashion Week later that year. Earlier in the same year, Grace appeared alongside her mother in a Carolina Herrera campaign.
