Chunky Panday on Staying at Hotels Over Shah Rukh Khan’s Houses: ‘I Am Messy’

Chunky Panday and Shah Rukh Khan, two of the most renowned actors in the Indian film industry, share a close friendship that has spanned many years. Their familial bonds are equally strong, with Chunky’s daughter Ananya Panday maintaining a close friendship with Shah Rukh’s daughter Suhana Khan. In a candid interview with Lehren Retro, Chunky Panday shed light on his preference for staying at hotels over Shah Rukh’s lavish residences during their international vacations in cities like London and Dubai.

Chunky Panday expressed his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan’s achievements, stating, “Yes, Bhavana [Panday, his wife] and others have had the pleasure of staying in Shah Rukh’s residences in both London and Dubai. I have also been fortunate enough to stay at his house on a few occasions. However, I must admit that I prefer the comforts of a hotel. While I appreciate the hospitality offered at his home, I am somewhat of a messy individual, and I am fully aware that this could lead to my prompt eviction. Nevertheless, I have enjoyed my stays at Shah Rukh’s residences, which are truly magnificent.”

Chunky Panday further revealed a shift in his financial habits, embracing a more frugal lifestyle. “In the past, I often felt a sense of inadequacy when others seemed to be receiving more attention. To combat this, I decided to adopt a miserly approach, believing that this would at least generate some話題. Back in the day, smoking was a prevalent habit, and many people desired to quit. To avoid temptation, cigarettes were often not brought to film sets. However, I was unwilling to give up the habit, so I began carrying my own pack of cigarettes to the set. I noticed that my cigarettes were disappearing rapidly, with five to six packets being consumed daily. It was at this point that my miserly tendencies took root,” he added.

During the same interview, Chunky Panday also addressed his daughter Ananya Panday’s open discussion about her relationship with actor Aditya Roy Kapur. Chunky emphasized that his daughter is free to make her own choices and that he fully supports her decisions. He expressed pride in Ananya’s decision to pursue an acting career at the age of 18 and her subsequent success in the industry. Ananya Panday made her acting debut in the 2019 film “Student of the Year 2.”
