Cincinnati Bengals Exercise One-Year Option on Star Wide Receiver Ja’Marr Chase

The Cincinnati Bengals have announced that they have exercised a one-year team option on wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, extending his contract through the 2025 season. Chase, a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has emerged as a star player for the Bengals, earning Pro Bowl honors in each of his first three seasons.

In 2023, Chase caught 100 passes for 1,216 yards and seven touchdowns, while in 2022, he registered 87 receptions for 1,046 yards and nine touchdowns in 12 games. He was named Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2021 after catching 81 passes for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Chase has already made NFL history in his three seasons, setting records for most receiving yards in a season, including a postseason, by a rookie (1,823 in 2021), most receiving yards in a game by a rookie (266 in 2021), and receiving yards in a postseason by a rookie (328 in 2021).

The Bengals are expected to try to get a long-term contract done with Chase before his rookie deal expires, as he has become the top target for quarterback Joe Burrow and a key part of the team’s offense.
