CLAT 2025 Registration Opens: Apply for Law Admission at 22 NLUs

The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) has announced the schedule for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025, offering aspiring law students a chance to secure admission to prestigious law programs. The registration window for online applications will open on July 15, 2024, giving candidates ample time to prepare their applications. The deadline to submit applications is October 15, 2024. The CLAT 2025 exam is scheduled for December 1, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm (with an extended duration for PwD candidates).

Candidates interested in pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate law programs at 22 National Law Universities (NLUs) and other participating institutes can apply for CLAT 2025 through the official website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

Eligibility Criteria:

CLAT-UG 2025:

* Candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% marks (or equivalent grade) in their qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories.
* Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories require a minimum of 40% marks (or equivalent).
* There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing for the undergraduate program.

CLAT-PG 2025:

* Candidates must possess an LL.B. degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks (or equivalent grade) for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories.
* Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories require a minimum of 45% marks (or equivalent).
* There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing for the postgraduate program.

Exam Pattern:

CLAT-UG:

* The exam will be a 2-hour test comprising 120 multiple-choice questions.
* Each question carries 1 mark, with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
* The question paper will cover topics like English Language, Current Affairs (including general knowledge), Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.

CLAT-PG:

* The question paper will focus on constitutional law and other areas of law, including jurisprudence, family law, criminal law, property law, administrative law, law of contract, torts, company law, public international law, tax law, environmental law, and labor and industrial law.
