Clippers Extend Series Lead with Victory Over Mavericks

James Harden once again led the way for the Clippers, pouring in 28 points along with eight assists. Paul George added 22 points, while Ivica Zubac had a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

The Clippers dominated the first half, taking a commanding 56-30 lead at halftime. They held the Mavericks to a mere eight points in the second quarter and forced 11 turnovers. Luka Doncic, Dallas’ star player, was held to just 11 points in the first half, as the Clippers’ defense clamped down on him.

The Mavericks showed some signs of life in the third quarter, outscoring the Clippers 34-23. Doncic and Kyrie Irving combined for 29 points in the period, but the Clippers still held a 15-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Clippers put the game away with a 10-2 run to take a 102-88 lead. Harden hit a 3-pointer during the run, while George added four points. The Mavericks never recovered and the Clippers closed out the win.

With the victory, the Clippers now have a commanding 2-0 lead in the series. Game 3 will be played in Dallas on Thursday night, and the Mavericks will be desperate to avoid falling into a 3-0 hole.
