Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on the Opposition — Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, and the Congress — for their alleged lack of faith in Hindu deities. He urged voters to send these parties on a “five-year leave” by voting them out of power in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
“In logon ko keh do ki vote to kamal ko denge aur tumhe paanch saal ki chhutti. Tum mafia ki qabar par fatiha padho (Just tell these people that you will vote for the lotus (BJP symbol) and send them on a five-year leave. They can recite the fatiha on the graves of criminals),” the CM said, referring to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s visit to the house of late mafia-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari.
In a bid to woo voters, Adityanath reiterated his government’s commitment to the development of all citizens, regardless of caste or religion. He contrasted this with the Opposition parties, which he accused of dividing society for political gains.
“Beware of these elements as they weaken the country through their parochial caste, communal or family considerations before extending welfare schemes to people. But the BJP ensures “sabka saath, sabka vikas” (development of all). Our welfare schemes are extended to every citizen of our community without any bias on caste and communal lines. Security and development for all but appeasement to none is our motto,” he said.
