COAS Munir Meets Iranian President Raisi
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir met with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, on Tuesday. The meeting centered on matters of mutual interest, including regional peace, stability, and border security.
COAS Munir emphasized the importance of the Pak-Iran border as a “border of peace and friendship.” He stressed the need for enhanced coordination to prevent terrorists from undermining the long-standing brotherly relations between the two neighboring countries.
President Raisi highlighted the potential for cooperation between the two countries and their armed forces to promote peace and stability in the region.
Both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation and working jointly towards regional stability and economic prosperity.
President Raisi’s visit to Pakistan is the first high-profile foreign visit since the February 8th polls. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including his spouse, the foreign minister, and other senior officials.
In addition to Rawalpindi, President Raisi will also visit Lahore and Karachi during his three-day visit to Pakistan.
