Get ready to jet off! Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN) is launching its new winter flight schedule, promising a diverse selection of destinations for travelers seeking sun, cityscapes, or adventure. Starting on Sunday, October 27, 21 airlines will be taking flight to 69 destinations across 29 countries, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
New Horizons: Dubai, Jeddah, and Beyond
One of the most exciting aspects of this new schedule is the introduction of two new routes by Eurowings, connecting Cologne Bonn to Dubai in the UAE and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. These additions expand travel options for passengers, offering a chance to experience the vibrant culture and stunning landscapes of these destinations. The inaugural flight to Dubai takes off on Monday, October 28, marking the beginning of this new route. Eurowings will operate flights three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, using the modern Airbus A320neo specifically stationed at Cologne Bonn for these routes. The same aircraft will also be utilized for the Jeddah route, launching on November 5, with flights scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. This new route to Jeddah marks the first direct flight connection between North Rhine-Westphalia and Saudi Arabia.
Returning Favorites and New Additions
This winter, Eurowings is bringing back some popular summer routes, extending its schedule to include destinations like Alicante and Valencia in Spain, and Chișinău in Moldova, running from mid-December to early January and resuming in February.
Marabu Airlines, a new addition to the Cologne Bonn Airport scene, has established a base at the airport just in time for the autumn holidays. They’ve stationed an Airbus A320neo to whisk travelers away to sun-drenched destinations throughout the colder months, including Fuerteventura and Tenerife in the Canary Islands, and Hurghada in Egypt. Tickets for these flights are conveniently available through Marabu’s sister airline, Condor.
Air Cairo is also joining the mix with a new route to Cairo starting on Sunday, October 27, adding to its existing connections to Hurghada and Marsa Alam. Ryanair is expanding its reach with two new destinations: Kaunas in Lithuania and Bristol in England.
Pegasus Airlines is stepping up its service, now offering flights to four Turkish destinations – Cukurova, Gaziantep, Elazig, and Kayseri – previously available only during the summer months. Jet2.com continues its seasonal tradition, offering increased flights from Cologne Bonn to Manchester, Birmingham, and Newcastle in England between late November and early January, providing even more frequent service than last year.
The Classics Remain
Of course, popular destinations like Mallorca, Spain, and Antalya, Turkey, will remain in high demand with multiple daily flights from various airlines. Major carriers like Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Austrian Airlines, and British Airways will maintain frequent connections to their respective hubs in Munich, Istanbul, Vienna, and London Heathrow.
The winter flight schedule at Cologne Bonn Airport will remain in effect until March 30, 2025, offering a wide variety of travel possibilities for those seeking warm-weather escapes, city adventures, or simply a change of scenery.
