Former Ohio State running back Dallan Hayden has committed to the University of Colorado, bringing a wealth of experience and talent to the Buffaloes’ offense.
Hayden played a significant role as a freshman in 2022, contributing to Ohio State’s three-headed backfield alongside Miyan Williams and TreVeyon Henderson. He ranked second on the team in carries with 111 and third in rushing yards with 553.
Despite redshirting last season, Hayden showcased his potential in three games, accumulating 19 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown. His addition to the Colorado roster adds depth and experience to their running back unit, providing relief for quarterback Shedeur Sanders and bolstering the team’s offensive attack.
Hayden’s transfer is part of a recent surge in positive news for Colorado, which currently ranks third in transfer portal team rankings according to On3. This past weekend, the Buffaloes secured the commitments of talented defensive linemen Rayyan Buell and Dayon Hayes, as well as four-star offensive lineman recruit Payton Kirkland from Texas.
Buell made a significant impact at Ohio last season with 12 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks, while Hayes led Pittsburgh with 10.5 tackles for loss and added four sacks. The string of positive developments follows the news last week that former five-star recruit Cormani McClain entered the transfer portal, expressing his desire to find a program that prioritizes player development.
