Computex 2023: What to Expect from Intel, AMD, and Nvidia
Computex 2023, the world’s biggest computing conference, is just around the corner, and we’re expecting some major announcements from Intel, AMD, and Nvidia. Here’s what we’re hoping to see:
Intel
Intel is expected to talk about its upcoming Lunar Lake laptop CPUs and Arrow Lake desktop chips at Computex. Lunar Lake is supposed to arrive in the second half of the year, and Intel claims that it has a neural processing unit (NPU) that’s more than four times as fast as last-gen Meteor Lake CPUs, along with a next-gen graphics architecture that adds even more AI horsepower.
AMD
AMD is all but confirmed to talk about its next-gen Zen 5 architecture at Computex this year. For the first time, AMD might release Zen 5 in laptops before desktop. There’s a good chance this will happen because AMD CEO Lisa Su has said that Strix Point — the code name for Zen 5 mobile chips — will launch this year.
Nvidia
Nvidia is expected to focus on its dominance in the world of computing right now. Nvidia isn’t technically going to be at Computex, and will instead hold a virtual keynote a couple days before the show starts. We expect a long presentation in which Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang talks about the future of AI, how Nvidia is powering that future, and how the company is now worth more than most countries.
Other Highlights
In addition to the big three, we’re also expecting to see some interesting announcements from other companies at Computex 2023. For example, Asus is expected to reveal a new handheld gaming device called the ROG Ally X. We’re also expecting to see a lot of new components that go around the core of your PC, such as cooling and lighting systems, and cable-free motherboards and cases.
Conclusion
Computex 2023 is shaping up to be a major event for the PC industry. We’re expecting to see some major announcements from Intel, AMD, and Nvidia, as well as a lot of other interesting products and technologies. Stay tuned for all the latest news and updates from the show.
