Congress Aims for Victory in Karnataka Lok Sabha Elections
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has asserted that the party is aiming to secure victory in 15-20 Lok Sabha seats out of 28 in Karnataka. He believes that the people of Karnataka desire a government that prioritizes job creation, reduces inflation, and supports the underprivileged.
Kharge criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for solely focusing on electoral victories while neglecting the welfare of the country. He drew a comparison with former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, emphasizing the importance of governance beyond mere power acquisition.
The Congress President condemned the recent murder case in Hubballi and called for strict punishment for the perpetrator. He stressed that the law should take its course regardless of the individuals involved.
The Lok Sabha elections for 28 seats in Karnataka will be held in two phases on April 26 and May 7, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4. In the 2019 elections, the BJP won a majority of 25 seats, while the Congress managed to secure only one seat.
