Responding to Pitroda’s comments, BJP senior leader R. Ashoka strongly condemned the ‘racist’ nature of the remarks, stating that they reflect the DNA of the Congress party. He drew a parallel between Pitroda’s statement and the party’s past actions, such as Sonia Gandhi’s Italian origins, to illustrate the Congress’s alleged discriminatory mindset.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also criticized the Congress, specifically targeting its key ally, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). He questioned whether the DMK and its leader, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, would sever ties with the Congress in light of Pitroda’s remarks. Modi challenged the DMK to demonstrate its commitment to Tamil pride and the people of Tamil Nadu.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined the chorus of criticism, characterizing Pitroda’s comments as ‘reprehensible’ and demanding an apology from the Congress. He accused the party of being responsible for the partition of India and for continuing to divide the country along various lines since independence.
Adityanath further condemned Pitroda’s comments on the Ram temple, emphasizing the unity and cultural significance it represents. He stated that the construction of the Ram temple is a source of pride for India, reflecting its cultural ethos and national unity.
