The Indian National Congress on Sunday announced its second list of nine candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, scheduled for October 5th, 2024. The party is aiming to make a comeback to power after a decade of being in the opposition.
The list includes prominent names such as Brijendra Singh, who recently joined the Congress after leaving the BJP, and will be contesting from Uchana Kalan against JJP’s Dushyant Chautala. The Congress has also fielded Mohit Grover from Gurugram, Paramvir Singh from Tohana, Balram Dangi from Meham, Vardhan Yadav from Badshahpur, Anirudh Chaudhary from Tosham, Kuldeep Sharma from Ganaur, and Ashok Arora from Thanesar.
The Congress is facing a tough battle against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is striving to retain power in the state. The BJP has already released its first list of 67 candidates for the election.
The Haryana Assembly election is crucial for both the Congress and the BJP. It will be interesting to see how the Congress’s strategy to revive its position in the state pans out in the face of a strong BJP campaign.
