The Congress party will raise the issue of the Delhi coaching centre tragedy, in which three UPSC aspirants were drowned due to flooding, in the Lok Sabha during the Budget Session of Parliament on July 29. The party’s Member of Parliament Manickam Tagore has moved an adjournment motion in the House to discuss ‘Demanding accountability for Delhi’s infrastructure Tragedies and Tragic Losses,’ the Congress party stated.
The tragic incident occurred on July 27, when a surge of water flooded the basement of Rau’s IAS Study Circle in Old Rajender Nagar, claiming the lives of three IAS aspirants: Tania Soni, Shreya Yadav, and Navin Delvin. The basement, which was being used as a library by the popular coaching centre, was in violation of regulations. A video circulating online captures the moment when the water rapidly fills the basement.
The Congress party’s move to bring this issue to Parliament highlights their demand for accountability and investigation into the infrastructure failures that led to the tragic deaths. The party aims to ensure that such incidents are prevented in the future.
