Conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar Offers to Buy Stake in Dharma Productions: A Bizarre Twist in the Extortion Case

The ongoing extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar has taken an unexpected turn, with the accused making a bizarre offer to acquire a stake in Karan Johar’s esteemed production house, Dharma Productions.

According to reports in Hindustan Times, Chandrasekhar, currently lodged in Delhi’s Tihar jail, sent a ‘Letter of Intent’ to Dharma Productions through the legal firm Anantam Legal. The letter, shared by Sukesh’s PR team, stated, “This is a letter of intent regarding acquiring a major portion of stake in your company, Dharma Productions.”

Chandrasekhar, known for his audacious tactics, declared the offer as ‘non-negotiable’ and claimed the deal could be finalized within 48 hours if accepted. He justified the unusual proposal by stating his financial advisor informed him that Dharma Productions was seeking investment, and his company, LS Holdings, was keen on supporting the company’s expansion.

Acknowledging the potential skepticism surrounding his offer, Chandrasekhar wrote, “For me, movies are not just a business, but a passion and an emotion, as I am personally a movie buff. I am sure this offer may seem unusual, coming from the walls of Asia’s largest prison, but Karan, the best and wonderful things happen from extraordinary situations, places, and persons.”

Adding a personal touch, the letter lauds Karan Johar as a ‘wonderful human’ and refers to Jacqueline Fernandez as the ‘love of his life’. It further reads, “Me, my family and, are Big Fans of Dharma productions, Mainly the Wonderful Human Karan Johar, and most importantly Love of My Life Jacqueline, has huge Respect towards you, Which you very well know. So it’s a Privilege and an honour to acquire a Stake/infuse funds in your Company and Become a part of your family.”

The offer comes at a time when Chandrasekhar faces serious allegations of extorting ₹200 crores from the wife of an industrialist through a series of extortion calls. Fernandez’s name also surfaced in the case, implicating her in a money laundering scheme connected to the extortion charges.

While the offer remains a shock, its acceptance seems highly improbable given the gravity of the charges against Chandrasekhar. The incident has undoubtedly added a new layer of intrigue to the already complex case and fueled public curiosity about the potential future of Dharma Productions.
