Convicted Felon Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of Lyft Driver

The Del City Police Department has arrested a convicted felon, 20-year-old Andre Hunter, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 54-year-old Lyft driver. According to court documents, the incident occurred last Thursday night when Hunter requested the victim, a Lyft driver, to take him to a Del City address.

Hunter allegedly used a false female profile and name to register for the ride. Upon reaching the destination, Hunter moved behind the victim in the backseat, restraining her. He threatened her with a gun, forcing her to drive to High Spirits Park in Del City.

Major Brad Cowden of the Del City Police Department stated that Hunter sexually assaulted the victim multiple times and then forced her back into her vehicle. After the assault, Hunter drove the victim to a Northeast Oklahoma City neighborhood, where he dropped her off at a church and took off in her car.

Utilizing the victim’s phone, which was left in her car, police tracked down Hunter at Langston University. He was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond. Hunter has a lengthy criminal record, including charges for domestic assault and battery, stealing, and possession of a weapon while on probation. Multiple victim protective orders have also been filed against him.
