In next week’s Coronation Street, viewers will be left concerned for Roy Cropper as the stress of recent events takes its toll. Roy, who has been arrested and charged with the supposed murder of missing teenager Lauren, collapses in his prison cell.
Roy has been under suspicion due to his kind nature, especially after he was caught innocently cleaning Lauren’s flat. However, things take a shock turn when Roy’s niece Nina Lucas shows up at the visiting room and tells a prison officer she’s waiting for her uncle. It’s not long until the officer goes into Roy’s cell to find him collapsed on the floor.
Later in the week, Mary Taylor visits a desolate Roy in hospital, where he admits that he keeps trying to remember the details of a conversation he overheard between Max and Lauren prior to her disappearance as he’s sure it is of significance. A supportive Mary urges Roy not to give up as she is sure it will come back to him eventually.
By the end of the week, it appears that Roy remembers one vital detail as he contacts solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey, telling her about Lauren’s necklace and explaining that if they can trace where it’s from, they might be able to trace her mystery boyfriend, who could provide answers to her whereabouts.
Will they track down Lauren’s mystery boyfriend and could they provide vital answers to her disappearance? Coronation Street airs every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
