Costa Coffee Unveils New Summer Menu with Vegan Options and a Golden Caramel Twist

Costa Coffee is embracing the summer season with a vibrant array of new menu additions, including a tempting selection of vegan options. The high street cafe’s latest offerings are sure to delight customers with a variety of choices for their lunchtime break.

Among the exciting new beverages are the Cookie Dough Frappe and the Golden Caramel Latte Macchiato, available in both hot and iced versions. In the realm of food, Costa has introduced a delectable falafel and houmous wrap in collaboration with BOSH!, a savory sweet chilli chicken wrap, and a refreshing mango and passionfruit bircher.

The dessert menu also boasts a delightful array of new treats, such as a decadent triple chocolate brownie cheesecake, a vegan gingernut loaf cake, a whimsical bubble frappe gingerbread biscuit, and a sunny shortcake biscuit.

During a recent visit to sample these new items, I was eager to try the falafel and houmous wrap, but unfortunately, it was unavailable at my chosen location. Instead, I opted for a comforting macaroni and cheese, a classic Costa favorite.

When it came to selecting a beverage, I was torn between the two tempting new options but ultimately settled on the iced Golden Caramel Latte Macchiato. This new drink is a part of Costa’s exciting partnership with the Paris 2024 Olympics Games, where the coffee chain will serve as the official coffee partner. The beverage, adorned with golden caramel syrup, is a delightful choice featuring a smooth foam milk topping (vegan option available) and a sprinkle of bronze shimmer. Whether you prefer it hot or iced, it’s the perfect summer drink.

Next, I chose the vegan gingernut loaf cake, a collaboration with the plant-based food company BOSH! While undeniably tasty, its inclusion in Costa’s summer menu left me slightly puzzled. Gingerbread flavor typically evokes memories of autumn and winter, not the sweltering summer months, especially when presented as a loaf cake. While I wouldn’t personally opt for the gingernut during the warm summer season, it’s certainly a treat I’d consider come September or October.
