CRPF Inspector Killed in Terrorist Attack in Jammu and Kashmir

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) inspector was killed in a terrorist attack in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on August 19th. The incident occurred around 3:30 pm in the remote Dudu area of Basantgarh, where a joint patrol party of the CRPF and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the J&K Police came under fire from terrorists.

During the exchange of fire, an inspector from the 187th battalion of the CRPF was hit by a bullet. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. The terrorists fled the scene after facing strong retaliation from the joint patrolling party.

Following the attack, reinforcements were immediately deployed to the area. A search operation was launched by the security forces to locate and neutralize the militants. The area has been cordoned off while the operation continues.
