CUET UG 2024 Results: NTA Working to Declare Results ‘As Soon As Possible’

With lakhs of students and 261 universities, including 46 Central universities like Delhi University (DU), Allahabad University, and Banaras Hindu University (BHU), eagerly awaiting the Common University Entrance Test, Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2024 results to commence the undergraduate admission process, the University Grants Commission (UGC) Chief, M Jagadesh Kumar, has assured that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is working tirelessly to declare the results “as soon as possible.”

The Indian Express quoted the UGC Chief saying, “After the last date for the draft key challenge, experts review the challenges and prepare the final key. It usually takes about a week or two for NTA to do all this and announce the results. However, NTA is working to announce the results as soon as possible.” The NTA had previously announced the provisional answer key on July 7, with the last date to raise objections expiring on July 9, 2024.

The CUET UG exam was conducted between May 15 and May 29, 2024, across numerous examination centers in 379 cities, including 26 cities outside India. The initial release date for the CUET UG 2024 results was June 30, however, the NTA faced delays due to paper leak allegations surrounding the NEET UG, UGC NET, and CSIR UGC NET examinations. Candidates who took the CUET UG 2024 exam can access their results on the official website at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/ once they are released.

The CUET UG 2024 exam, as per the notification, was based on multiple-choice questions requiring candidates to select the correct or most appropriate answer from the given options. A correct answer yields 5 marks (+5), while an incorrect answer results in a one-mark (-1) deduction. Unanswered or marked questions receive zero marks.

In the case of anomalies or discrepancies discovered during the key verification process, a few specific rules apply: If more than one option is found to be correct, only those who marked any of the correct options will be awarded five marks (+5). However, if all options are found to be correct, five marks (+5) will be awarded to all candidates who attempted the question. If none of the options are found to be correct, or a question is deemed incorrect, or a question is dropped, all candidates who attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5).

This year, the NTA conducted the CUET UG exams in a hybrid mode (Computer Based Test and Pen-paper) across 379 locations from May 15 to May 29. Approximately 13.48 lakh students participated in the exam. It is important to remember that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is a national-level examination conducted by the NTA. It is a mandatory requirement for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs at various central and participating universities.
