Dachshund Attack: Single Mum’s Face Ripped Off, Life Ruined by Scar

In a horrifying incident, a 45-year-old single mother from Swansea, Kelly Allen, had part of her cheek ripped off by a friend’s dachshund. The unprovoked attack left her with a severe open wound and more than 40 stitches. After extensive plastic surgery that lasted over five hours, Kelly was left with a seven-inch scar.

The attack has taken a devastating toll on Kelly’s life. She struggles to leave her home due to the trauma and facial disfigurement, and has not been able to return to her job as a travel agent due to her diminished self-esteem. The ordeal has also put a significant strain on her finances as she relies on £350 of statutory sick pay each month.

Adding to her distress, Kelly has discovered that the dog had previously attacked others. Despite her initial reluctance, police were called after hospital staff witnessed the severity of her injuries, and the animal was later euthanized.

In an attempt to alleviate her financial burdens, Kelly’s sister has launched a fundraiser, which has received over £1,000 in donations. Kelly acknowledged the immense support she has received from her loved ones, but the ordeal continues to haunt her, causing her to wake up in tears and fear returning to her normal life due to the visible scar and emotional trauma.
