Dancing Latitudes: E-Residents’ Journey to Culminate in Tallinn

Conceived by Estonian entrepreneurs and e-residents Christoph Huebner, Ignacio Nieto, and Miguel Piñas, the Dancing Latitudes journey was meticulously planned within just six weeks by Dani Maletic, organizer of Ireland’s digital nomad festival NomadÉire. Throughout the journey, unconference events and pitching competitions were held in each city visited, attracting an average of 20-30 digital nomads and entrepreneurs. These events not only fostered networking and collaboration among participants but also stimulated local tourism, drawing in attendees from various regions.

The journey’s highlights included a record-breaking turnout in Barcelona, where the events culminated in a lively tapas evening. Success was replicated in each city, with thought-provoking discussions and groundbreaking pitches. Notably, AI themes were prevalent throughout the journey, with winning ideas such as an AI-based language learning tool in Barcelona and a deep tech platform inspired by the Ukrainian refugee crisis in Amsterdam.

The journey’s best moments were captured on social media by Mary Grace Nguyen, while Giang Lu Kim created the visual identity for the travelers. AI expert Seth Ward, an e-resident and part of the core team, was responsible for marketing and automation for the journey, effectively showcasing the appeal of the digital nomad lifestyle and attracting a diverse group of innovators and entrepreneurs.

The culmination of the Dancing Latitudes journey in Tallinn includes the Latitude59 conference and the first-ever Nomad Fest Tallinn. Partnering with Lift99, the organizers aim to gauge interest in such events in Tallinn, potentially establishing it as a recurring event. Looking ahead, the organizers envision an even grander European trek next year, aiming to support participants in transforming their ideas into viable business plans by journey’s end.

The Dancing Latitudes journey not only highlights the growing trend of digital nomadism but also significantly impacts tourism by bringing together a diverse group of innovators and entrepreneurs. This initiative enhances the cultural and economic landscape of each city visited and will culminate in a significant boost for Tallinn’s tourism with the Latitude59 conference and Nomad Fest.
