Darshan Thoogudeepa Charged in Gruesome Murder of Fan: Photos Emerge of Victim’s Final Moments

New photos of Renukaswamy, a fan of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, have emerged, capturing the chilling moments just before his brutal murder. These images, which have gone viral on social media, show Renukaswamy pleading for his life and later lying lifeless near a parked truck. The photos emerged just a day after police filed a chargesheet against Darshan and 16 others, detailing the gruesome events that led to Renukaswamy’s death.

According to police reports, Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old man, was found dead next to a stormwater drain in early June. He was allegedly tortured and murdered in a shed, where he had been lured by one of the accused, Raghavendra, under the pretense of meeting Darshan. The investigation revealed that Renukaswamy had sent obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda, a friend of Darshan, which angered the actor.

The chargesheet, a 3,991-page document containing 231 witness statements and extensive technical evidence, details the extent of the torture Renukaswamy endured. Police officials revealed that he was beaten with clubs, given electric shocks in his private parts, and thrown against a wall, resulting in multiple fractures. The photos show the fear evident on Renukaswamy’s face, a testament to the trauma he experienced before his death.

Further evidence from a forensic report suggests that Renukaswamy’s blood stains were found on Darshan’s clothes, further implicating the actor in the crime. The post-mortem report confirmed that Renukaswamy died due to shock and haemorrhage from multiple blunt injuries.

Police sources have identified Pavithra Gowda, the accused number one, as the “major cause” of Renukaswamy’s murder, citing evidence that she instigated, conspired with, and actively participated in the crime. The case has sent shockwaves across India, highlighting the disturbing reality of fan obsession and the potential for violence when it turns dangerous.
