DCS Corporation, an employee-owned company specializing in advanced technology and engineering solutions for the national security sector, has secured a significant contract valued at $70.7 million. The contract, awarded by the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), will see DCS continue its longstanding partnership in supporting the Ground Vehicle Simulation Lab (GVSL) in Warren, Michigan. This five-year contract represents a significant investment in the advancement of ground combat vehicle technology within the U.S. Army.
The GVSC-IS, home to the GVSL, is a world-class facility dedicated to developing and applying cutting-edge physics-based simulations, simulators, and crew station designs to support the research, development, and maturation of Army ground combat vehicles. Under this new contract, DCS will play a critical role in providing technical services across various areas, including:
*
Immersive Ground Vehicle Simulation:
DCS will support the development, integration, and execution of immersive simulations, enhancing the realism and fidelity of training and testing scenarios.*
Ride Motion Simulation:
DCS will contribute to the development and integration of ride motion simulation systems, providing a more realistic and immersive experience for operators during training and testing.*
Crew Station Development:
DCS will be involved in the development and integration of crew station designs, ensuring optimal ergonomics and functionality for operators.*
Virtual Experimentation:
DCS will conduct and evaluate virtual experimentation, leveraging the capabilities of the GVSL to assess the performance of existing and conceptual ground combat vehicles. The technology developed through this partnership will significantly advance the Army’s ability to evaluate the mobility, durability, and operational effectiveness of its ground vehicles.
“For more than 20 years, DCS has been a trusted partner of GVSC-IS and the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command in conducting motion-based and large-scale experiments at the world-class GVSL modeling and simulation facilities,” commented Bill Protzman, DCS President and COO. “We are excited to continue supporting GVSC-IS and the Warfighter.”
DCS’s commitment to the U.S. Army extends beyond this specific project. For over 35 years, the company has been a vital partner in the development and deployment of innovative solutions for manned and unmanned ground vehicles. DCS employees work closely with government counterparts to ensure the successful research, development, acquisition, integration, testing, fielding, and post-fielding operations of these critical systems.
This contract highlights the importance of cutting-edge simulation technology in modern warfare. By leveraging the expertise of DCS and the capabilities of the GVSL, the U.S. Army continues to push the boundaries of ground vehicle technology, ensuring its readiness and superiority on the battlefield.
