In a move to expand the Dead by Daylight franchise, Behaviour Interactive has revealed three new spinoff games. This announcement was made during the game’s 8th anniversary live stream, where the developer showcased these upcoming titles alongside updates to the base game.
Project T, developed by Midwinter Entertainment, is a session-based co-op third-person shooter. Players take on the role of Trespassers, who fight their way out of a region called The Backwater after being summoned by The Entity. Currently in early development, Project T does not yet have a release date, but interested players can sign up for the insider program.
The Casting of Frank Stone, a narrative adventure title from Supermassive Games, was also featured. The game follows a group of friends who are shooting a horror movie in an abandoned building when things take a dark turn. Supermassive Games’ executive producer, Traci Tufte, stated that the gameplay experience will last five to seven hours, with player choices influencing the storyline. The Casting of Frank Stone is set to release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S before the end of 2024.
Finally, Behaviour Interactive surprised viewers with the release of What the Fog, a new game that follows survivors from Dead by Daylight after they are drawn into a magical board game. Players platform, fight enemies, and collect blood points to power up generators and escape each level. What the Fog is currently available for PC on Steam for $5 or free for players with a Behaviour account. While Behaviour has not announced plans to bring What the Fog to consoles, they have expressed that they are not opposed to the idea.
The expansion of the Dead by Daylight universe with these three spinoffs demonstrates Behaviour Interactive’s commitment to growing the franchise beyond its original multiplayer horror concept.
