In the new trailer for Marvel Studios’ upcoming film starring Deadpool and Wolverine, the exchange of bullets and claws is everywhere. The trailer, which builds on the hype of the upcoming red-mask superhero movie set to release on July 26, focuses on the two major characters of the comics. With Madonna’s hit Like a Prayer as the background score, the swashbuckling hero Deadpool attempts to recruit the jaded Wolverine to save the world.
Unlike in the previous teaser trailer, Hugh’s iconic yellow-themed outfit of Wolverine is at the forefront of this new clip. The highly-anticipated film is considered to be the duo’s first foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as the makers apparently are stitching up a shared universe of the two pillars of the company. This comes after Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, which previously dealt with the X-Men franchise, leading to no issue over the characters’ copyrights.
Since September 2022, comics fans have been eagerly awaiting the team-up between Deadpool and Wolverine, which was first announced by Ryan Reynolds. However, the duo has clarified that the film will not reverse the events of 2017’s Logan.
