Following a reported death threat to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma from a prisoner in Dausa’s Shyalawas Jail, police have taken swift action. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lalsot Lokesh Sonwal confirmed that the accused has been identified and nine mobile phones were recovered from the jail premises.
The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when Dausa SP Ranjita Sharma received a call from higher officials in Jaipur regarding a threat issued from the Central Jail Shyalawas. Immediate action was taken with the local CEO and SHO dispatched to the jail. A thorough search was conducted alongside jail authorities, leading to the discovery of the mobile phone and SIM card used to issue the threat.
ASP Sonwal stated that the accused has been identified and an FIR has been registered. An investigation is underway. The search operation involved the participation of the ADM, SDM, and DIG, resulting in the recovery of nine mobile phones from the ground.
Due to security reasons, the name of the accused and further details are being withheld. However, it was revealed that the accused is serving a sentence under Section 376 (rape) and hails from Darjeeling.
