Decibel Cannabis Company Inc. (Decibel), a leading player in the premium cannabis and extract market, has announced positive results for its dried flower strategy, exceeding initial expectations. In July, the company shifted its focus towards dried flower consumers, re-organizing its flower processing across facilities. Early results are promising, and Decibel anticipates continued success.
The company’s flagship brand, QWEST, was relaunched in Alberta, BC, and Ontario with the slogan “More Dank, Less Bank.” This strategy has resonated with consumers seeking high-quality flower at accessible prices. The relaunch was supported by a sampling program for budtenders and retailers, with 98% of survey respondents indicating they would recommend QWEST products.
Since the launch, Decibel has seen substantial growth: depletions from Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC), BC Liquor Distribution Branch (BC LDB), and Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS) distribution centers have increased by over 500%, and Decibel’s retail market share in dried flower has grown by over 400% in the past four weeks.
Decibel’s international expansion is also gaining traction. The company has received its first purchase order for QWEST branded dried flower products in the UK, with shipments expected by the end of September. In Australia, advanced purchase orders have been secured for the remainder of 2024, indicating strong demand for Decibel’s products. The first shipment to Israel is expected within the week, and the company anticipates its initial flower products will reach Germany by the end of 2024.
Decibel has also made some internal announcements. The company has applied for an extension to its annual shareholder meeting, with a hearing scheduled for September 19th. Additionally, Warren Matzelle, Chief Product Development and Marketing Officer, has resigned from his position, effective September 6th.
