The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning predicting a wet spell in Delhi-NCR over the next few hours. The department, in a social media post, stated that light rainfall or drizzle is expected in South-West Delhi and NCR areas like Faridabad and Ballabhgarh.
The IMD further stated that light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by light thunderstorms and lightning, is expected in areas like Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Chhapraula, Greater Noida, Meerut, Modinagar, Pilakhua, Hapur, Gulaoti, Siyana, Sikandrabad, and Bulandshahar (U.P.) over the next two hours.
Delhi woke up to heavy showers on Saturday morning, leading to waterlogged streets and roads across the city. Visuals from Barapullah flyover show significant waterlogging. The maximum and minimum temperature is expected to settle around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius on Saturday, with 63 percent humidity. IMD’s forecast suggests precipitation in the national capital during the coming five days.
