Delhi Court Extends Judicial Custody of Arvind Kejriwal and K Kavitha Till May 7th

A Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and BRS leader K Kavitha till May 7th. The extension was granted as the two leaders are currently in jail in connection with a money laundering case related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.

On Monday, the court had rejected an application by Kejriwal seeking permission to consult a private doctor of his choice daily for 15 minutes through video conferencing due to his acute diabetes and fluctuating blood sugar levels.

Both Kejriwal and Kavitha were produced before the court through video conference on Tuesday, where Special Judge Kaveri Baweja extended their custody after the expiry of their remand. The court’s decision to extend their judicial custody is the latest development in the ongoing case related to the Delhi excise policy scam.
