Delhi Court Reserves Order on Arvind Kejriwal’s Interim Bail Plea

A Delhi Court has reserved its order on an interim bail plea filed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on medical grounds. The court has fixed June 5th for the pronouncement of the order. The Enforcement Directorate has opposed Kejriwal’s bail plea.

Kejriwal’s plea for interim bail is based on medical grounds. He has cited a recent deterioration in his health and the need for specialized medical treatment that is not available in Delhi’s Tihar Jail, where he is currently lodged. The Enforcement Directorate, which is investigating Kejriwal in connection with a money laundering case, has opposed the bail plea, arguing that he is not entitled to bail at this stage of the investigation.

The court’s decision on Kejriwal’s bail plea is expected to provide clarity on his legal status and his ability to continue his duties as Chief Minister. If the court grants him bail, he will be released from jail and will be able to resume his official functions. However, if the court denies his bail plea, he will remain in custody until the completion of the investigation or until he is granted bail by a higher court.
