Officials from the Delhi Crime Branch traveled to Mumbai on Wednesday to interrogate Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, who had been arrested in connection with the Salman Khan house firing incident. The two suspects were questioned extensively for a period of around three hours.
Previously, the Mumbai Crime Branch had identified criminal Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi as the main perpetrators of the incident. Based on substantial evidence, they were designated as wanted accused, as reported by ANI.
According to the report, a total of four individuals have been charged in connection with the firing incident at Salman Khan’s residence, including Anmol and Lawrence Bishnoi. Before the shooting, the accused had apparently conducted multiple reconnaissance missions, including visits to the actor’s farmland.
Upon their arrest, the suspects were found in possession of a broken cell phone, indicating that they might have had additional phones. The Crime Branch is actively pursuing the recovery of these devices, the report added.
Furthermore, the Mumbai Crime Branch recovered a second pistol, four magazines, and 17 rounds from the Tapi River in Surat. This discovery was the result of tracing the movements of shooter Vicky Gupta, who is believed to have disposed of the weapon and ammunition in the river while traveling from Mumbai to Bhuj, Gujarat.
The investigation also revealed that the accused had made financial transactions using their bank accounts, leading authorities to search for their phones in the river, the report further stated.
The incident involving the firing outside Salman Khan’s house took place on April 14, when two individuals on a motorcycle fired four rounds before fleeing the scene. CCTV footage captured the suspects wearing caps and carrying backpacks.
Initially apprehended by the Kutch Police, the suspects were later transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch. A local court extended their custody to April 25. The case has been expanded to include additional charges under IPC sections 506(2), 115, and 201.
Shortly after the incident, Anmol Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the attack in a Facebook post.
